I'm staying with them in a month, and stayed there a little over a year ago. No complaints from my end - the cruise ship traffic wasn't bad (they docked each morning and were out before sunset - plus, I was already up and ready to go diving when they were docking :-) ) and I didn't notice any crazy traffic from the passengers at the hotel. Things might have changed since then - definitely interested to hear more recent feedback.

We stayed there a few times in the past, and went back last month and had a great time, friendly staff, great restaurant, we stayed in the old part, never in the new tower. I like the beach and have done lots of dives out front. Their Dive shop is real friendly and easy to work with, fast boat, we are planning to go back to Coz in April and will probably stay at La Ceiba again. The cruise ship folks do come over to the beach and pool during the day, but we just consider it a free show and do some people watching.

been staying at el cid for the past three years . 3-4 times a year. Not your 5 star resort but a very clean friendly place to stay. We dive with the on site shop Babieca, very accomadating. Some posters complain about the cruiser staying the day at el cid ,but seeing the bar and resturant busy,i know the local workers are make more money. The truth to Coz is that the island needs the cruiser along with the divers to flourish. I saw that first hand when the flu epidemic was thought to originate in mx and obama told americans that mx was not safe for travel. most shops were closed. never had abad experience at ei cid. Will be heading back next week.
