I am thinking that 119s are the tanks I would like to go with (from al80) however I was just thinking about trim with these. Has anyone had any problem with trim? I'm wondering about the weight vs. length. I will be diving them as singles for now, but I may be going into doubles as I get deeper and more wreck experience.

(Thanks for your thread Gabriel it got me thinking)

Thanks

Hope you know how to dive those bad boys..........they are very negative and you will need substantial lift. They will also tend to push you upside down, since they are more negative than you are. Why do you need so much air??? Are you diving dry??

See now I was worried about that negative weight. I haven't purchased anything yet so I'm not in a corner. I like the fill you get @ 3000psi on those tanks. The other tanks I was thinking about are the E-7 100s. Much lighter.

I can say the E8-130s are huge and heavy. the 119's would be as big as I would go, if I needed. What are the other's (your partners) diving with. No reason to carry twice the air you buddy has. Air consumption will also factor in the descision process. It is nicer to dive more manageable tanks. That said, the 119's look like reasonable size/volume relationship. I would also look at the E7 100's (wish they had an E8-100). Considerably lighter and smaller. Perhaps you dive requirements only suggest the E7-100. The same holds true for doubles. The addition of a stage tank is probably a better way to address increased dive requirements. Try to make comparisons in person. The E8-119 is the largest tank I would consider.

I sometimes use some HP100's (E7-100) that they fill to 4500psi (scooter dives around 100-110fsw), amazing........... don't know how safe that is btw. I find that I run into NDL limits with so much air.

They aren't that negative... expecially with the weight one uses up here in New England. I dive double 130s, and I still need a little bit of weight if I'm going to be doing two dives and use my aluminum plate.

Well, it was a toss up between the E-7 and the E-8 before. I'm still torn so it will really come down to what is going to work best with the rest of my gear and the diving I want to be doing. I know.... shocker. What else would it depend on?

Huh? Push you upside down? I have dived E8-130s in both doubles and singles, in Bp/wings and in a jacket and never had that problem.

"Push" may be the wrong word, you will tend to float upside down. Nothing that can be overcome with good diving practises.
