Thinking of buying a Sea and Sea MX-10 with the YS-40A stobe attachment. Budget is definitely an issue and want to stay away from a digital camera and go with a print camera. All of our diving is done in mostly good vis Hawaiian waters, about 60 ft max depth.

Anybody have any experience with this camera...or other suggestions in the $500 range.

Thanks

The MX-10 is a great starter film camera. I still use mine occasionally. There's a book...The Complete Guide to Sea & Sea by Joe Libirdi that is excellent for explaining everything.

The only thing you may be disappointed in is the fixed strobe. You'll still get some backscatter unless you get that strobe away from the camera and angle it. One way to do that is with an MXTENDER With this and the additional lenses, you'll have a system that could easily last you for years.
