Ok, so I just arrived home after a 3 week holiday, and to my great joy, there was a package waiting for me. It was the 2 backup lights I ordered a while ago. I fantastically ripped the package open, and I ran to my mother with the lights in my hand, screaming "MOM MY LIGHTS CAME!!" And I was jumping up and down frantically, of course. She says something to the effect of "they're just flashlights" and I defend myself, saying "but mom, these aren't JUST flashlights. these are HALCYON MINI SCOUTS!"

Sigh, non-divers just don't get it. :D But I love them anyway.

Just thought I'd share with others who DO get it. *grins* Yay, I have new lights.

Well when your mom gets a new sewing machine, or garden weezle, or whatever, and you are not jumping up and down for joy, remember you flashlight moment!

Actually I'd NOT be that excited over a mini scout. Now a salvo 21w HID, that is something to jump up and down for, at least until I had to pay for it!

That's just the tip of the iceburg- think of the countless hours of joy you will have tying knots to attach bolt snaps to them. :D

And just when you think you've had more fun than you can handle, you get to dive with them.

Santa does exist and he wears a red and white drysuit!

hope they came in black to satisfy our Dear Invincible Reefwarriors :D

And additional joy when you test one of them out on a dive and your buddy doesn't even realize that you switched from your primary to a backup because it is so bright.

Congrats. We understand.

Better than my husband, who is still muttering about my f-ing THIRTEEN HUNDRED DOLLAR FLASHLIGHT.

My wife absolutely refuses to release funds for me to buy a can light. The locals over here sell 'em for between $2500 and $3500NZD...
