...up and down our rocky shores...

I'm looking to upgrade my current thin soled wet boots to something a bit more substantial. What do the local rock rats on this board use? Something that will make the walk back up the ramp at Marineland a little easier on my delicate dogs...better support, thicker sole. Local Sport Chalet carries the Mares 5mm boots, but I've seen similar from Pinnacle, Bare, Blue Reef, Harveys, and others.

Muchisimas gracias!

5mm booties? brrrrrrr

I wouldn't use anything but 7mm booties in these waters...

look at the bare 7mm...they work fine for me at marineland, and are holding together well. I've seen good (looking) 7mm ones from pinnacle also

different boots have different widths, try them on at the dive shop

hope this helps

while you're at it, get some pinnacle 5mm gloves if you don't have 5mm gloves yet...

one of these days these boots are going to walk all over you ;)

I liked the Sea Soft booties for Marineland, but they were huge and difficult to get in and out of my Jet Fins. So, I traded them in for something with thinner soles.

But if in your size they fit your fins, I think that they are very nice!

Will you be using the boots over a wetsuit or a drysuit?

Ken

Tis the intention that they shall be donned with a suit of the wet variety.

OK

I highly recommend hard soled boots that zip. You are wearing these with some kind of neoprene sock, right? No simple addition to your kit will deliver a more impactful warmth divident than the addition of simple 1mm neo socks. Barefootin' it in WS booties is the worst.

Take the neo socks AND YOUR FINS to a couple of shops and get the most comfy hard sole boots you can find.

My 02 PSI.
