I remember after crawling over those rocks after finishing my ow certification. Third dive of the day and completing the mandatory skills, I wondered if I could make it out. Well I am happy to say good bye to huge rock that backside was introduced to. I guess I will head to Casino Point next weekend to check out the new stuff.

It was very nice in the park yesterday (Saturday). Small crowds, the new rock placement is great. Bill, please thank CDS and the others for me.

I'm actually heading down to the park in 30 min to do a few dives, so I will be sure to mention it to Cynde, Dave. Hopefully the vis today will be good enough to shoot some overviews of the Sujac for a client.

Bill, I shot some tape for of the three boats yesterday as well. Vis was so-so. Have a good dive.

Well, I did only one dive in the park today. My "6 1/2 hour" Sony NP-FH70 battery (freshly charged) failed after less than 30 minutes on the first dive. Sony's CEO will be getting a long letter from me soon.

As for the rocks, I think they will be great for dive classes returning to the stairs from the north (sandy) end of the park. However, I usually go in the other direction for some reason and I did find the rock in the center of the fairway in front of the stairs to be an obstacle. However, it only required a little retraining for me.

I do see a potential problem at extreme low tides, especially for young or short legged divers. It is quite a step up from the new "basement" at the foot of the stairs to the first stair. Of course I landed at medium tide and it was a piece of cake (with frosting).

Cynde asked me to let other SB members know that she would appreciate feedback from divers on what they think of the new configuration. Please let her know when you next dive the park.

Looks like reason enough for me to get back over there to dive!
