The Truth dive boat is in Long Beach till April

Wow, just came back from an AWESOME trip to Santa Barbara Island yesterday aboard the Truth dive boat and I forgot how nice the Truth was.


What a value the trip was to SBI, we had 4 dives food, air and a tri tip dinner on the way in and was back to the dock by 7:30 all for $155.00. To have the Truth docked next to the Long Beach aquarium for trips to the southern islands not to mention places like the rigs and some of the wrecks is something I think is very special!


It now opens up a whole new door for SoCal divers to get out diving in comfort and class and with prices that are very comparable to any of the other boats.


Do I have an interest in the Truth? I sure do! As someone who does lots of charters in SoCal, I recognizes the need for a boat that can do it all, in comfort and have the customers best interest in mind and if we don't patronize the Truth while it is in Rainbow Harbor, Long Beach till late April than it won't be back next year.

The Truth is a great boat. We went with them to Santa Barbara Island on 11/9. The captain and crew are really good and the BBQ tri tip on the way back in was fantastic. They will have a Nitrox system installed sometime this month!

Yep, have enjoyed being on board the Truth Aquatics boats since the days I taught at UCSB and was a member of the UCSB SCUBA club (we got a great deal on the boats back then through the club). Great boats.

Glen says the nitrox membrane system should (hopefully) be up and running by the end of the year. That will be an excellent addition and I can't wait for it!!!

Maybe if the Truth gets enough business in Long Beach it will not only be back from Nov.-April but maybe it could stay in Long Beach.

Question for you. How is the parking around that area?

It's $3. There are some parking spaces in the lot next to the harbor and several on the other side of the bridge.

To be honest the parking isn't too great. Its no so bad that you have to pay $3.00 but the parking spaces for us that need to stay parked for more than 90 minutes is very limited. 22nd Street has much better parking but if you think about it, when all the boats are going at 22nd Street the parking is also limited so I guess it is all relative! As they say "It is what it is". Having the Truth there is very new and I think changes could be made if things became more permanent.

There is a trip this Saturday to San Clemente. They need more people to sign up to make it a go. The forecast looks good.
