"It also appears that another sinking was prevented on Sunday 15 December, when 28 passengers and crew were rescued after their boat suffered damage and began taking on water in strong winds and high seas. The vessel limped back into port in Marsa Alam on Monday."

Likely everything would be fine for me and I would have a great trip whenever I head to Egypt. I wish you and everyone else safe travels but this is all too risky for me when there are so many other options for diving.
There were more than 7 major airlines crashes over the past two weeks alone. One of the most sophisticated technology industries. Are we supposed to "not fly"?
I remember when I used to go to work everyday at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital seeing horrific scenes in our ER. Enough to keep me away from driving cars, or even simply walking in streets.
Fear is not real. We build our own cages and lock ourselves inside them.

no offense but it is quite exagerated in my opinion. Yes the ratio is low but still too high.

on the other side the continuous improvement does not exists as far as I can see.

- Ship yard in egypt keep producing boats that appeal to the diver eyes. Their boats seats ever higher on the water with heavy 3rd deck and are less and less stable. they keep making the interior Instagram worthy and doing so they use cheap non fire retardant materials that will catch fire in no time.

- Crews are not better trained than before. There are very little (none) training requirements to be a cabin crew.

With every catastrophe that happens in Egypt; one would image that it would the wake up call that would actually change the way thing are done there; but so far it has not materialized.
Some fit your description indeed. But not all. There are many exceptions.

Happy new year to you and all your loved ones.

Ohhhhh... yes now I get it.
Yes sure, I use AI to save time sometimes!
But then people get suspicious. I think it is always better and more personal to write freestyle, no AI.

Valid point.
By all means, I was surprised that whatever AI wrote is actually true :)
I provided a lot of facts, but I gust asked to put them facts together.

We dived with the Splash boat and crew last week and it was significantly more focused on safety than the Aggressor liveaboard we were stuck on due to the recent regulatory changes in the Red Sea.
It was very nice to have you all onboard guys and gals :)
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
It is also much appreciated to see our hard work resonating across so others "maybe" could change what they have absorbed as stereotype about the whole business.

Nice try, but no dice.
We were and still one of only few operational boats because we have all our trained/certified crew and safety standards exactly as the book says. NO short cuts.
On this picture, you will see liveaboard in the background, where the customer were stranded. As our boat was fully approved and operational according to standard, they left the liveaboard on multiple days to join our daily trips where they had an amazing time and LOTS of dolphins too :)

No dice here... It is by design not by luck.
We work hard and we do it right.
That's all.

Just wondering whether all these self called "luxury" day cruise are meeting the new requirments...

I wouldn't cross off Egypt as a place to dive. I would however, cross off Egypt as a place to dive on a liveaboard. When you have a British organization recommending its citizens NOT DIVE on Egyptian liveaboards, that's pretty serious. They haven't done that for any other country. I dove in Egypt before and can attest to safety standards. I'm going back again in August 2025, but once again using land based dive shops. I wouldn't go on an Egyptian liveaboard not even if it was free. I value my life too much.
Glad to hear that you will be coming in August. We really hope to see you then. Don't take my word for it. Ask those who already have been on Hurghada Splash Boat.

Thanks again!

It seemed a little suspicious to me too that the account Soap was created 4am this morning and had just the 1 post above.
I really don't know who is Soap account belongs to, but it has to be one of the following folks joined us and used Splash instead of being stranded on a non-operational liveaboard! See the picture. In fact the liveaboard boat is right behind them on the marina standing still.

@Soap
Please could you share some of your media from the few days you spent with us? or introduce yourself? I think you were the British couples. The readers have a suspicion that this whole thing is a scam act.

We are still doing this? Okay, I'll bite.
OP is drawing flak about safety of Red Sea LOB's (tbh, not really his fault, but it is what it is) and magically a new user show up and praises OP's op.
And you want us to believe you?
Again, nice try but no dice.
I can't wait for @Soap to introduce him or herself.
But as much as you don't want to believe it, it is just a fact that Hurghada Splash Boat IS different, and it IS operational as we speak while others wont. Simply because we are truly the BEST and SAFEST daily diving boat in the Red Sea weather you like it or not.
I am really sorry you feel that way. But truly there is nothing I can do to make you feel better.
We are doing what we do day in and day out, and we are getting the payback regardless.
So... you can keep trying!

Happy new year to you and all your loved ones.
