Hey All Yall, :D

I have a request for the KPP. This isn't for me but others that are new to the board and or diving in the KY area. We have "renamed" the quarry at Lagrange three times within the last month or so. For example...we use to call it Joe's, short for Joe Clark's Quarry I will assume. Then along comes eveyone calling it FRP, short for Falling Rock Park. Even the web site calls it Falling Rock Park. Now I noticed another thread started that calls it Falling Rock Quarry. I can see the park to quarry possibly being a mistake, but still.
Right now I'm not sure that even I know what to call it and where it is. I know of at least two others that don't know what is going on because they PM'd me to ask where FRP was. They have been to the quarry formerly known as Joe's. The last time I was down the sign out front still read "Joe Clark's Quarry". So has Joe changed the name? What's it call? Has Joe died?

When I was introduced to the "Quarry" in May 2007 Joe told me is was called " Falling Rock Park" or Joe Clark Quarry, I've heard all of the above and can see the confusion. I like Falling Rock personally, fits it perfectally.

Wally, I just call it the big hole out in LaGrange. You know the one with the maneating fish??

Cornfusing isn't it......Let me see if I can help. I'll keep it simple,

It used to be an active quarry under a different name. It is now a scuba diving training facility, some call it Joe's since he lives there and is the owner/operator of said facility. Besides all that, FRP is easier to type on a board! :D

I won't even touch this one! I could really get myself into trouble. You would beat me or I would get kicked off the board.

Well it looks like even Joe doesn't know what to call it. I'm sure that I will hear about this one the next time that I go to....uuuhhhm (light bulb clicks on) GPS coordinates 38 25' 42N, 85 24' 29W.

OK so I was wrong on the sign out front. Thanks for taking care of that one Chris.

I realize where everything came from but we keep changing the name. When new people are PM'ing me asking where FRP is something is screwy, especially when they have been there. I think we can all figure out the FRP versus Falling Rock Park. If not then we don't need to be diving.

WT calls it Rolling Rock, but we won't go there!

Actually, this is one of the questions Joe asks of new divers when they fill out their release, if you answer anything other than FRP he corrects them. So the confusion does not land at Joe's feet!

Looks like he told kyfrogman a little different. Read above post. BTW, I'm not trying to lay blame I'm just trying to clear this up.
My comment about me hearing about it is like the remark that I got out of Joe about me impersinating an instructor on here.

I'm not going to dispute what Joel remembers, just that Joe makes an effort to correct people on what the name of the quarry is. As for you impersonating an instructor, I think that came from a NH diver and Joe was correct in bringing that up. We don't want you trying to get in free now do we??? :D Now wait a minute, that's not a bad idea, I think I'll jump on that one!!!:14: I'm now your stand in instructor............

The reports of Joe's death were wrong,

:shakehead: Oh Wally!

What a dirty, filthy little mind you have!! No wonder we get along!!

Oh and :whack:

:D

So can we keep it to being either FRP or Falling Rock Park??
