Hey Folks,

I really know nothing about taking underwater pictures... however - one thing I noticed is that when pics are taken of divers with neon on them (aka - the octo, or the safety sausage)... those areas are so bright in the pics that even with good retouching you lose a lot of detail in OTHER parts of the pics and don't get the colors right anyhow...

Any ideas besides "don't wear bright things..." :wink:

From what I've heard the position of the strobe has a huge effect on backscatter and those hot spots you talk about.

Hence the BIG long arms on the higher end housings. To move the strobe away from the lens, and to allow you to angle it so it's not pointing parallel to the lens.
