There is a tiny little beach about 20 miles north of Davenport, and it would be about the first thing you come to heading south from Pescadero Beach. Yes, it's called Pebble Beach, and I think it might be part of Bean Hollow state park. And, it is VERY pebbly, almost like pea gravel. It's probably even more dangerous than Monastery Beach, but on a calm day I think it might be a cool dive.

Has anybody ever been there?

Never been there, but I have fished off a big rock just south of Davenport, I think it's called Greyhound Rock, which I've always thought would be a great dive.

One of my friends was a professional witness. We were recording data for a wrongful death suit that happened at Grey Hound rock. It is known as the "Other Mavericks". Our day was calm with the same 14 foot swells that the boaters flipped their boat there. We were in 25 feet of water watching the GIANT waves off the port side about 100 yards off...when I saw one start forming up on our starboard side. HOLY COW I have never seen a wave that BIG!!! We were in an 18 foot RIB and felt tiny. By the time we got to the top of the wave it was cresting. As we topped it I chopped the throttles and the bow fell...then right back on the throttles. The second one was not a whole lot smaller. Since we were foolish and didn't have life jackets on I call that one of my near death experiences. It would have been worse had we had to outrun the waves. Would I dive Grey Hound Rock from shore...NO WAY! Off a boat in deeper water sure, but I would want to anchor outside the reef.

When I was there the water was dead flat, but it looks like it does get a decent swell, probably in winter.
