I'd like to dive with someone using an Air2... just to see if they still like it after an out-of-air drill where they either have to breathe out of it while ascending, or have me breathe out of it while they're ascending. I suspect it would be a less than clean drill, and I'm getting to enjoy those.

Besides, I'd like to be able to have an informed opinion about them, I've never actually had any real non-theoretical experience with one.

I used to have one. It's definitely not optimal, but they at least get you in the right mindset of donating the primary.

Yeah, well if you didnt have so much Koolaid in your big mouth, the Air2 may work a bit better :eyebrow:

I think the error lies here:

TRUE DIR proponents tend to be very focused and very driven, almost fanatical about their diving.
I guess when your on the outside looking in, and dont know the full picture, the focus and determination can be misconstrued as narrow. The part thats missing is what led up to that decision to be so focused. Only one with a wide mind, and an open understanding of the concept can adopt the principles of DIR, you must understand the reasons behind it, to adopt it. A narrow minded person would not even be willing to listen to a DIR Instructor, let alone become a student. Kinda ironic huh?

This is really really sad.

this thread suddenlly became something we can all learn from and BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. If nobody on this board can learn something from DIR they have major problems

2. If nobody on this board can learn from AADiveRex they have major problems

3. Get a octopus ;)
