Anyone have any opinions on the reliability and functionality of the New Sherwood Oasis? Is it easy to maintain? I am also looking at Oceanic Delta 3 and Zeagle DSV. Does anyone have a preference and why?

I have an Oasis & love it! I do a lot of deep & cold quarry diving & haven't had any problems with it at all. I upgraded to it because of depth problems I had with a Brut I owned. The performance has been outstanding (easy breathing & so far, no freeze ups). I also really like the moisture retention bars that help cut way down on the dry mouth I tend to get. I have been very pleased with my Oasis.

I'm not sure what you mean by new. According to the Sherwood site they are the same models from when we bought our Blizzards in 2005. I believe the prior generation had the same 1st stage with cosmetic changes on the seconds. Prior to that, whenever that was they were considerably different.

I don't think you can get too much easier or affordable to maintain. Reliability? that is the hallmark of the Sherwood's. Service is available almost anywhere there is water since they are the darling of the rental industry. The Blizzard removes a hose protector (for heat transfer) and adds some Teflon. If you are going to hit 42F or colder go Blizzard. They have the same moisture retention fins only they call it a heat sink!

If you plan to go deeper than deep there are better breathers out there. For safe. reliable recreational diving you will be well served.

BTW if you want a lot of feedback fast, do a search for sherwood, oasis blizzard

I'd go with Blizzard, same price, same advantages and more; cold water... maybe one day you'll want

I agree there are now downsides to it other than getting strange looks in the tropics. I am accustomed to getting strange looks so I'm good with it. :)
