O'l mate Superlyte27 the OP now banned what happened to him? Probably making millions out of the last couple of hurricanes to hit Florida.
Well he was pretty damning of rEvo (and probabaly still is), but Im coming up to 50 hours on the Choptima and Im yet to fall in love with it. I will commit to get to 100 hours, but the revo is still my go to. Perhaps the problem is I dont dive enough to own two CCR units.

Hmm yes he was, but he always had an ulterior motive........

I have both. The rEvo is still my go to … except for cave diving. I still prefer the Choptima for caves.

I'm at ~4 years with my chop and happy as ever with it.

The chop is my first and only CCR and buying it was a leap of faith. It was a sizable investment for me and I only had one CCR buddy (SM Liberty) at the time.

With 4 years, ~300 dives on it, and knowing a LOT more about CCR than I did when I bought it, I have ZERO regrets about my purchase.

I don't think it is perfect, nothing is, but it still checks a lot of boxes. Modularity, form factor / weight is minimal, it's easy to maintain, and has been completely reliable. Every time I consider getting another unit I come back to, I just don't need another unit enough to justify the cost.

My ONLY critique is that the chest clutter is real and it would be nice to not have to deal with it. That said, it didn't take long to learn to deal with the chest clutter and I find it to be an acceptable design trade off for how I get to dive. If I only dived off boats, or only dived caves, I might have a different opinion; as it is, I primarily dpv shore dive with occasional boat and cave trips thrown in so the chop has worked out perfect.

Touring all of the other CMs at DEMA, only reaffirmed my choice. The Halcyon Hoptima looks to be a respectable contender but all the others left something to be desired.

As always YMMV...
