A minor update. I dropped the second stage off at Huish this afternoon. I asked for the new exhaust valve and the lever to be replaced. I should have it back in a couple of weeks. I was told that AA hopes to have the repair kits to the dealers next month.

We did not use the reg for the second half of the trip. However while diving my TX1 I took note of when there was any wet breathing which was seldom. Only a couple of times was it really noticeable.

What is a TX1?

With my TFX (one of the very first), as I posted a while back, I would get a little bit of wet breathing whenever I was in head-down orientation. But, it was never very bad and definitely did not make me want to not use it.

If yours was that annoying, it makes me think it may have been assembled incorrectly.

T1X: I think the 2nd stage was a T1, and the 1st was a T1 upgraded with less Monel than the T2X had.

Can’t talk about its internal, but here’s how it’s branded — I trust whatever Geo says on this 😅

Being dyslexic I wrote Tx1 when I should have written T1x. @Mobulai and @Geo7 have posted the correctness. :-) (@Mobulai is in the original case where @Geo7 is in the revised high flow case).

I don't think it is was assembled incorrectly as it would breath as advertised most of the time but not enough of the time. That said, it could well be out of spec and need adjustment/replaced. I will certainly followup with the tech at AA.

However, once I got enough wetness that had I not noticed the amount of salt water I was about to aspirate it could have lead to a nasty coughing fit. That came as a surprise. It happened a second time with less of a surprise cause at that point I was expecting it.

I was having a brain fart. I should have surmised you meant T1x. No worries! :D

Over 5 hours underwater yesterday, many times I went head down and no wet breathing from the newer TFX, the problem may have its fix already, hopefully the upgrade will solve it for you.
