Good luck in your search KC.

If you get to the Big Island of Hawaii be sure to let me know. Can't beat a friend with a 31' dive boat.

Thanks Matthew!

Never been to the Big Island. Yet one more thing I would rather be doing...

Cheers,

Kevin

Yeah, looking back on it, you did answer a bit of my question. I was hoping someone who was a rabid Halcyon nut would compare the 26# Jet wing with the 27# halcyon and tell me how they behaved in the water, but the point above that since they only sell on Ebay there are fewer of them around is well taken. I'm not in a hurry...I'll do my homework. Thanks for the replies. Cheers.

I have the Jet (had the Dive Rite) and my dive buddy HAD the Halcyon, but just purchased the Jet and will probably ebay his Halcyon.....what does that tell you? The Jet is extremely comfortable...simple..well made, and rugged. The fact that Jeff makes it to your measuments ensures it will fit, yet still has plenty of adjustment. You don't need a crotch strap with it...thats how well if fits. You can stand on your head and won't feel it shift....great for deep water lobstering.
The wing has a very tough stretchy material on it which ensures the wing will retract in size when the air is dumped...making your profile extremely small compared to other wings. I love it!!

I have acquired a Jet Harness and can certainly state that it is the best custom made system available on the market.

You only need to look at it to see that the materials are the best. And if you compare the construction you will clearly notice it is nuclear proof ;)

I got the complete SS BP/WING/Harness and to start I did take 10lbs of weight from my belt. The profile is so thin that my performance increased a lot in terms of air usage.

So if you are looking for a harness that will be around for several years go for Jet Harness.

If you are looking for a better performance go for Jet Harness.

If you want the best investment go for Jet Harness.

Some people complain that the BP is strange. Well, it is flat and works for singles. And if you doubles just use a normal BP and the Jet Harness. Again you will feel the difference.

And of course Jeff is 100% customer oriented.

Anybody tried one of these wings? I'm looking at all the options to put together my first bp/w and there isn't a lot of feedback out there on these.
TIA,
Mark

I've only read good things so far. I'm trying to do the same thing and i cant find anything that compares to the quality of the material they use. I think that i will buy one soon, have you found out anything yet on them?

It's a flat bp. Comfort?

They seem to be selling more and more on eBay over the last few months. The harness is similar to the OMS comfort harness, but probably with heavier duty materials. It's not DIR, but better than a standard BC and much more comfortable. A bit pricey. Check Dive Rite and OMS for their similar offerings. I use a Halcyon Explorer 55, AL bp, webbing for doubles now, and an OMS singles wing, SS bp, comfort harness for singles. I like both setups.

The Jet flat backplate seems cheap and a way to reduce production costs IMO.

Check out this thread on JetHarness. Jeff/oatmeal769 frequented this board before and had answered a lot of questions on his product.

Actually, in looking at their pricing, I didn't see it as being that "pricey". Especially being custom fit. In looking at equivalent set-ups from the standard vendors, I wasn't able to price out a SS backplate for around what JetHarness was offering. Unfortunately for me though, all the bp/w set-ups are out of my range at the moment.

As for eBay, I think that they only sell on eBay. None of it is in auction format, all "Buy Now" or equivalent. For a small company starting out, eBay gives very good exposure.

One of these days, I'll get myself a bp/w and see first hand what everyone is raving at.

Jeff used to be a local here on Catalina. I believe he told me he sells primarily through E-Bay at the present. I've never dived his BP/W set up, but one of my friends who is a local instructor absolutely loves it.

I bought one about a month ago. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had heard good things so I was hopeful.

When I received it I was shocked at what a deal I got for the money I spent. The materials used and the workmanship is top-notch.

After first receiving it I realized I miss-measured the shoulder length. I contacted Jeff and he was happy to fix it free of charge. Awesome customer service IMO.

To be fair this is the first harness I’ve owned, though I’ve seen and used others. I got it because I was planning on getting into spearfishing and I wanted something that was unrestrictive, sturdy, and reliable. While I haven’t used it for spearfishing yet, it almost feels like I’m not wearing it when in the water, which is exactly what I wanted. It packs into my luggage like a champ too.

It all depends on what you want, but I am thoroughly happy with it.
