Kathy. I called and asked them because I know our friends used the shuttle on a Monday. We met them there. So I knew it wasn’t just Sat and Sun as you mentioned. These things often change depending on demand etc and maybe the emploee was mistaken, but I think it is best for people to check when they are making plans rather than counting on what happened to somebody else in the past. Since the folks really using the service for the most part are visitors on there way out they should call and confirm the service which may have changed when they want it anyway. :).

I know the shuttle runs on weekdays starting at 11 am, it's on weekends that they offer breakfast and the shuttle starts early.

Kathy I called them because you said "Well, there has certainly been enough business year round to support the Hungry Horse in two airport locations for ages. And I believe that the GTYC shuttle only runs on Saturday/Sunday - so the HH has a captive audience on weekdays." Which may have been true at one time, but I didn't think was true anymore and it is not. Despite the breakfast hours, the shuttle does not match those hours. I just called again and spoke to Ronal 947-4892. He explained that weekdays the hours start at 11 but sometimes she starts at 10:30 and on weekends she usually starts around 10/10:30 but if she has something else she needs to do, it might be 11:00. It appears that there is wiggle room but if you have an earlier flight don't wait forever for the shuttle and also call to ask before you make plans. Ronal also used the phrase "right now" which seems to indicate things change. Anyone with the earlier flight can just call the number above to confirm as this seems to be changeable not only on a seasonal basis but a daily one :) We have guests all the time that we recommend use this service on their way out and would not tell them to just expect early pick up as most people do leave on Saturday or Sunday so we really try to stay current on the situation but even being boots on the ground doesn't mean there is not flexibility. Of course another option is to check in but keep your rental car if you are really early. That way to can drive yourself over for breakfast and just drop the car off on your return. This works great for flights leaving before noon.

Of course it is always wise to check first! And there are other options besides taking the shuttle, you can hang on to your rental car as you suggest or you are only a few minutes away by cab if you prefer. I'm just saying that we were able to catch the GTYC shuttle early during breakfast on 2 Saturdays last fall, and it was a nice option. We did it once before our trip over to Little Cayman and again on our return from LC on our way home - and best of all we were able to avoid the temporary Hungry Horse tent in the parking lot!
