Yeah, I heard some rumor about these wings...

SOmething like, Halcyon asked Oxycheq to make them a good single tank wing that doesnt leak...

Yeah, it went something like that...

Yep. I used to think you were gung ho aoubt OC wings for 2 reasons: 1) they were better and 2) you sell them.

After a stament like this I know it is just number 2.

It seems to me that the Eclipse wing has an outer shell and an inner bladder - something the Pioneer and Oxycheq single wings do not. This, no doubt, will add to the cost of the wing. What can not be said, however, is how much more :)

Here's the description for the 30# wing:
Ideally suited for diving in tropical to temperate waters where moderate exposure protection and neutrally buoyant tanks are commonly used but highly popular among recreational divers who want the additional streamlining a smaller wing offers. Halcyon's new Eclipse (single tank) wing matches the most popular twin-tank Explorer wing in quality and robustness. The outer shell is 1680 ballistic nylon to provide a robust and abrasion resistant cover. The bladder uses a urethane coated 400-denier Cordura, which has a tight weave to provide puncture resistance. The Eclipse wing combines the streamlined circular air-cell design of the Pioneer wing with the robust materials and double bag construction of the Explorer wing.

Just FYI.

Its ONLY Because of number 1...

I sell alot of things BTW...

I'll be there....

Wanna look at them..

Still would wait a while till I would buy one.. My 27is fine and it hasn't been on the market long enough to guarantee the bugs are worked out...

Which is the reason I stated about the OxyCheq...

The owner of the page showing the Eclipse happens to post on DIS-UK... he announced it there as well. According to a post he made there, apparently the new wing comes with neither an integrated STA, nor the slots for cam bands, so a seperate STA is required to mount a tank.

... but they use the word robust too many times in the same paragraph. And they've been doing it robustly for a loooong time too. I remember the robust usage of robust in the robust but pre-publication version of the DIRf book. I wish the binding on the 8.5X11 pages had been as robust.

I think they need to invest in a thesaurus.

the Eclipse wont be released in the US
until after DEMA. So all you Europeans
can give us a heads up on its performance!!

Hya folks,

Just got my new wing and here are 2 pictures I made before I set it up.
