Gary,

Give it a rest bud. I've seen enough advertisement to last the rest of the afternoon. ok?

I have good luck with LP. They sent the wrong color lite one time no prob, I just kept it. Exchanged fin's for the correct size, my mistake but they sent the wrong ones the first time and I figured out I had ordered too big but all was corrected. And they honored the warranty on my computer. Although I had to buy a new one today because I leave on a trip next week. And ya my local DS doe's not carry that brand.

Pressed Steel had this response to my query:

Could you forward me a list of your authorized dealers for the NY/NJ region?

Thanks for the info,

JJ

that's funny... LP also has a sticker on their front window display that says OMS Authorized Dealer. When I called OMS however, to verify, they told me that they are NOT their authorized dealer and they don't know where they are getting this stuff... So, they sure have some balls to display this sticker.

www.scuba.com is also great. They'll price match anybody (including LP) and they're in SoCal if you want to go to their store.
I've had great experiences with them and shop there all the time.

You have to be careful what you buy from them. They sell items that they are not authorized to sell. For instance, they sell Suunto computers and optional equip, but they get it from illegal sources. Because of that, Suunto will not warrant any of their equipment bought from LP. Just remember that when you are about to spend 400.00 for a computer!! You may save a fw bucks over a LDS, but you may lose it all if the equip fails to function correctly. BE CAREFUL! I bought a Suunto PC interface from them. When I needed help with it Suunto informed me that LP sold it illegally, and wasn't covered by any warranty as a result.

Come on Allison Finch! In your other post you said you weren't bashing LP and that you never called them with your Sunto problem to see if they would honor it, so how can you blame them? They probably would have replaced it, but you never gave them a chance. Now you have posts everywhere telling everyone your woes. Sounds like they should BE CAREFUL selling to YOU. I've bought several thousand dollars of gear from them and have had no problems. I wish I could get things as fast from my LDS but they hardly ever have what I want in stock and have to order it anyway. For high $ items I usually give my LDS the first shot and most of the time they match the price but for the small stuff it's too much of a hassle to haggle when my computer is closer.

Wow way to resurrect a three year old thread...

The problem is that these stories about LP's service, or more accurately, lack of it, keep popping up on a continuing basis!
