todive4:theres no choice for if you never get sea sick at all... I dont get any form of motion sickness, and Ive been through alot (flat-bottomed navy ships in the middle of the atlantic in big swells, blackhawks when the pilot is actually trying to make you sick, u name it). aren't I lucky lol.
SueMermaid:I'd say the scale should go higher, ending with "Having to be restrained from stabbing self".
SueMermaid:If barfing were an olympic sport, I'd be Mark Spitz. :wavey:
It's something that I have just had to learn to live with. Drugs only do so much. If the seas are over a certain amplitude, I get sick. The rougher it is, the more lilely I am to pass out and/or get absolutely paralyzed, no matter what I do to prepare.
It's (usually) worth it though.![]()
Nay:Has anyone ever heard that chocolate is supposed to be good for sea sickness? I don't tend to like sweets while diving but my sister-in-law has said that her dad was in the navy and they used it.
If I take Dramamine the night before and again the morning before I get on the boat, I hover between 1 and 3. If I forget the morning dose, it's 3 & 4. Wouldn't ever dream of doing a dive boat without it.
