if I say my post will get pulled.
Seems as though you can't mention a certain website around here...
DECO STOP
Sorry guys, but ever since your new endeavor, you have seemed a bit elitist and obnoxious. I ususally stick up for you but you are over the edge.
Shellbird,
I think you are being a little unfair by that statement. It sounds as if you are implying that everyone involved with TDS is displaying this kind of behavior.
WW can be rather outspoken and abrasive, but that is nothing new. He and I had several verbal exchanges here on S/B long before TDS ever came into existence, so I really dont think TDS is a factor in his responses.
If you have any specific examples that support the elitist/obnoxious comment, would you mind sharing them? You may do so privately if you wish.

I thought we were fellow divers, there was a time when the experienced welcomed the newbie, now we aren't good enough - no matter what.
I think this works in reverse as well. It seems that when some of the more experienced people chime in on a post their comments are not appreciated.
In a recent post that was hotly debated, I posted some very specific points that I asked for clarification on from the original poster. I also made several observations that I clearly stated were soley "my opinion."
Apparently my post ruffled the feathers of someone whom I wasn't even addressing who proceeded to call me a SOB (interesting since I'm sure he never met my mother...) a pain in the blank, and stated that all I had done is insult. I challenge anyone on this board to find a post by me where I insulted anyone or turned a debate into a personal attack.
Comments such as these are one reason why several of us have quit offering advice. It seems as if too many people are either looking at the advice as a means of circumventing proper training, or feel that everything we offer is done in a condescending manner. From my perspective, neither is the case, but YMMV.
It can be very hard for the "newbie" diver to seperate the wheat from the chaff. They dont know what they dont know, so it's often difficult to figure out who to listen to and who to ignore.
Regardless, please don't stereotype everyone who participates at TDS into the "elitist and obnoxious" category.
