Having been on the film crew (though not participating in the cave diving) in Mexico, I can tell you that to watch that team of cave divers in action took my breath away. For every shot in the movie, there are at least 20 cave divers in the water, protecting the cave, supporting with lighting, cable, etc., not to mention doing the stunt/double diving.

They made it look effortless (though it most definitely was not!) and at all times were professional, safety and environmentally conscious. They were also loads of fun, and they checked their egos at the door. I was very proud to be part of the crew, and extremely proud of my fellow cave divers.

Anyone know the story on the sonar gun they kept using in The Cave - is it based on an actual model? If so, where can I get one? Snuck off work early and saw the movie this afternoon. Might not have been perfect, but watching the diving scenes beat the heck out of working.

Some cool props from the movie are now being sold on eBay. I just picked up one of the wetsuits worn by lead character Cole Hauser, as Jack. Hopefully it fits. Looks like we're about the same build. Maybe some female divers will get me confused for him next time I'm out diving!
