The Great Lakes. Other than the recent intrusion of the Zebra mussels, the wrecks actually look like what you imagine them to look like. you have everything from 2 masted schooners of eary 1800's vintage to 600 ft ore carriers. Shallow wrecks for everyone, to 300' plus depths. New wrecks are discovered every year, and the "old" ones take many dives to really see everything. The season is shorter, the water colder, but the wrecks are incredible.

The Great lakes and St. Lawrence river have some of the best fresh water wrecks. With the cold fresh water the ship wrecks still look like a ship. We have it all, from 1800's schooners to modern freighters. The St. Lawrence doesn't have a thermocline and the water temp can get up to the high 70's.

The Great Lakes

Between Manitowoc and Milwaukee in Lake Michigan.
Fathom Five Marine Park on the tip of the Bruce Penninsula in Ontario.
Kingston to Brockville in the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
The outer banks of North Carolina.
The Florida Keys.

With so many great places and great wrecks it is impossible to state with certainty where the "best" wreck diving in the world is. All we can do is each cast a vote for our favorite. What may be great for some, may not be attractive to others.

IMHO, Like Jersey, and the "Lakes", for quantity, quality, and range of depths (20-250fsw) it's tough to beat New England . . . and it happens to be my backyard.
