I can remember it vividly....
we had just gotten back to campus for the pre-new year training routine.
Saw that we were playing Michigan State...I said...and I quote "what the F*** would we want to go to that game for...we have no shot of beating the #2 ranked team in the country...hell, why wouldn't they just send their women's team down, they could beat our Schilling lead screw-balls"
Then I watched the 1AM sports center (after a few beers) and I about pissed myself.....Holy $h!t...we beat MSU...no...I'm just hammered....no way.....how did they only score 48 points???? God knows it wasn't our D, was it?
NExt day...in celebration, we only had one practice...what a great coach....
Anyway, as far as the side bet (if we're playing...I'll look it up)...I'm only beting if I get like 25 points...
I know the feeling. My Mom went to MSU so i've always been a fan of theirs but i went to a small division two school. Our claim to fame was Hockey and we were good back then. Even money chance of beating big division one schools like MSU or U of M on any day. It's a great feeling when it happens.

What do you think i just fell off the turnip truck or what? How's this; i'll give you 14 and the bet is a tank of air if you ever get up this way for a dive. Heck, since i'm not really a betting man, the offer stands, win or lose, play or not play. The tanks on me.

home town. I remember the glory days when
we paid top dollar and we got top talent. There
wasn't any of that "go to class" stuff. The rules
were simple: Win and don't get arrested.

Think farther north, think engineer and you got it. And your right, our Hockey program went right down the crapper when i was up there and we got a president who didn't believe in free degrees. It was pretty bad before then. The only time you ever saw the hockey players in class was to pick up the syllabis and on test days. And somehow they always passed with flying colors .... imagine that?Lawman once bubbled...
