Belize Diving Services on Caye Caulker MADE our scuba diving trip to Belize (Oct 2012). From start to finish they were absolutely fantastic: CJ answered the phone when I called and helped me quickly arrange an extremely last-minute trip (hurricane Sandy wiped out our live-aboard trip as we were en route), including an immediate email with exact directions from the Belize City airport to their door, and even helping us find a hotel when we arrived; all of their staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our entire stay - they really treated us like friends and helped us enjoy our time outside of diving too; Walter patiently and reassuringly helped my mother with her first real dives after her Open Water Certification, and was her hero for the full 3 days we dove with them/him. We felt that they ran a very professional operation and left nothing more to be desired. We also heard from multiple fellow divers that Belize Diving Services was the best around (boats, safety, professionalism, etc.). They operate a nice new large boat docked just behind the dive shop that would hold 40, although we never went with more than @ 15 other divers. Each Dive Master/Instructor took 4-6 divers. We experienced a well-rounded series of sites and felt we lost nothing by staying with them in Caye Caulker (versus Ambergris Caye). In fact, upon moving to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye for a single last day, we felt a little "homesick" for Belize Diving Services and Caye Caulker. Many thanks to CJ, Walter, Pablo, Captain Efferin (sp?), TJ, "Chip" & Dani (sp?) for making our trip so fantastic!
As a bonus, there is a nice bar/restaurant right within their complex that we enjoyed and felt safe eating and drinking at until we got familiar with the island. We stayed at the Iguana Reef hotel literally adjacent to the dive shop, and were happy as could be with the accommodations/services/convenience/security there. We would repeat this exact trip at any opportunity!!
