if you are in phuket and are just doing day trips then marina divers is the cheapest company to use for your dives, they'll give you more and more discount as you keep diving with them. they have 2 shops im aware of. the 1st is a small office at the end of karon beach (the opposite end to kata) by the round-about (circle) near mermaid hotel. the other is at the other end of karon beach (towards kata) which is a bigger shop with a selection of equipment to buy. speak to ton at the larger shop she will give you the best deal she can.for example i got 4nights 3 days at similans for 16500 baht, similans closed now though.
the cheapest place to buy equipment is probably in the shopping centre in patong, thre are 2 big spotrs shops. diving equip is pretty expensive in thailand...
also if you dive out of phi phi you will pay more for your dives, alot cheaper from phuket.
