hey all

i just came back from a live-a-board in the Andaman. It was really good, although it only lasted 4 days, snif snif

the reason i wanted to post this experience, is because i have done this before (few times), but this time i booked it through a shop called The Dive Site in Bangers (Bangkok), located on Nana Station.

I went in and talked to Alex (the owner i think), who was really helpfull and friendly. Although i have been on a few of these trips, i think they deserve a mention for the great service and advice they provided there.

He even arranged transport and accomodation for the trip back.

I chose the 4 day trip, which was excellent, cannot remember the name of the boat, but i think it was run (sorry is run), by a Phuket dive operator.

The boat was a fair size, accomodating about 12, the food was great as well as service and facilities.

The Diving was as usual, fantastic, i am a keen photographer (not very good), but got lots of macro in as well as general.

No whalesharks, but the coral was outstanding.

I will definitly be back for more.

wuggi,

Did you take Andaman trip with them? I heard that Similan Islands are better and more affordable. I checked few web sites, but cannot find one you mentioned. Also seems like trips should be booked in advance. Do you have address for The Dive Site?

Hey Leroy

yes i did Andaman, and youre right, I think Similan is cheaper, i intend to go there hopefully beginning Dec, but i understand it really busy.

Hi Dees,

I live and work in Phuket since 2001. I read that you are thinking of coming out to Thailand for diving in February. My Girlfriend and I are chartering a semi-luxury liveaboard for Chinese New Year, Depart 8th February and return 12th February, 16 divers max. The price is 695.00 $US per person, including a daytrip checkout dive before departure. Let me know if you are interested. thien@scubadiving.com
