This story made it on a local news radio this afternoon (KFWB) - I was driving to the PO to drop off some ebay stuff, and the story came on. It had a friend of his speaking about his daredevil ways - pushing the envelope, taking risks, etc. It was a balanced piece and very sad.

I went by Channel Island Scuba today. I couldn't believe it, the shop is GONE! Cleaned out, empty, nada, nothing, just the Marque, the stuff on the windows, and that's it. Very sad.

Wow, how tragic. I was wondering what would happen to the shop. :( Thanks for the update.

......And so sad that the dive shop closed. How terrible.....

I feel for the family and offer my condolences. It's always tragic when children are left to suffer for the mistakes of others. The Dive shop closing, not so sad. In reality Mike believed that he was invincible, unfortunately for his family he was wrong. Call me a jerk but that's just the way it is and I had more than my share of encounters with Mike and his dive operation.
