A UWATEC or even a Mares Puck in gauge mode would be a great inexpensive substitute for it, and yes it is absolutely worth posting about.

Oh, and welcome back to the water!!!

lol… six years later, I just put a new battery in my one of these, fired it up and its good to go. It did nothing at first, so i stuck a needle in the hole for the sensor and it lit up, went through a booting process and seems to work.

I trained with one of these when they were current, so every time I look at it a nostalgic little tear wells up in my eye.

I really want a couple of those strap mounts for little pods like this. The console I use is super compact and so is this little computer, and the compass I have that matches - I’d really like to mount them both on a strap with my watch instead of the bulky console they came in. ChatGPT suggested scubaboard or an AirTag holder coz they designed the AirTag to be backwards compatible with tekna micro gauge pods from the 80’s and 90’s… I’m open to suggestions.

How did you get the back off to replace the battery?

Those were nice at the time. I had a full set of Tekna gear including the Tekna scooter, Tekna T2100 regulators (on faux Mark V) and fins and mask. Cool stuff at the time. I was very fashionable on a dive on the Flower Gardens Banks and all were so jealous of my Tekna scooter that allowed me to access areas of the banks not possible otherwise without multiple relocations of the boat. Even made a dive in the eastern Gulf into the Hole in the Bottom to a depth I will not mention using the aforementioned T2100 regulator set.
