Just to let people know who commented on the course charge. They are issuing me a refund. $30 out of the $400. I will be taking my business to LP now.
This is exactly why I avoid the LDS like the plague. It's good that you learned what jerks these guys are before giving them even more cash for gear. As Genesis said, be sure to tell all your friends about how little this shop appreciates it's customers. I would also tell the LDS in question that I would be purchasing ALL my gear from LP and give the reason why.

I brought my reg. setup in bits and pieces over the years. The only part I got from LP was the octo. Being I was new to scuba, I made the mistake of taking my reg. to my LDS to put it together. That jerkoff put the octo on my left so it would breath upside down. He gave the reason that my transmitter from the Aeris 750 was in the way of the port. He recommended a swivel octo from his store (obviously).

I went home did a little search on this BBS, and found out how easy it was to put that darn thing together.

Later that night I put the transmitter on my left; being that it can transmit from either side, and I put my octo back on my right, so it can breath right side up. I went on vacation the next week and dived 8 times without a problem.

My LDS called me up 6 mos. later to see if I was interested in Nitrox. I told them to go and fuk themselves.

I will be taking my business to LP, especially for equip., also because I live in NYC. I will take class at another LDS tough.

It is a shame that they do this. My gf really liked the instructor, but the shop is clearly out to make a buck and nothing more. Then they wonder why they keep loosing business. I was willing to pay them the extra money to buy gear localy.

I have reciepts that I totalled up from LP and have spent $3300 with them last year alone. I sell a lot of gear to my students at cost if they like it after diving in it. I have had to return only 1 thing in that whole time, and that was partially my fault. I think you will be quite happy with your buying experience through LP.

Just a followup. The owner promised a return of $30 (even though he ripped her off for 400) and that was over a week ago. Well, they never returned the money. Go figure. LP is getting all of my business now. If you want the name of the shop in Wilmington, De, please im me.
