... it is a great idea to work on trim, finning, etc. That being said, it should be merely an objective to be faced at a future date for a diver just learning how to stay out of the mud.

I'd much have preferred to be introduced to good trim, buoyancy and proper and varied propulsion techniques from the get-go.

I was fortunate that SB and its generous contributors had already introduced these ideas to me prior to my OW training, so I had some idea of what to work one, 'cause my OW training certainly didn't provide it.

You need to know what and how to practice. Practice makes permanent - not perfect.
