StSomewhere:
There is a revised edition (updated in 2003) available from Fill Express, IIRC under $60 delivered.

That would explain a lot. I have a first edition from 1998...

Deep Diving by Bret Gilliam, 0-922769-31-1

Some of the information is dated, but it has a lot of good info that still applies.

If you want a true textbook on techical diving - meaning instructional as well as informational - PADI's DSAT "Tec Deep Diver Manual" is excellent. Very well produced, detailed technique instructions with color photographs throughout, best you'll find for Extended-Range/Advanced Nitrox/Deco Procedures type profiles. I haven't seen their Trimix Diver Manual yet, but I would bet it's of the same high quality. I'm hardly a fan of PADI, but they do produce good instructional materials. You have to purchase the manual with the "Crew Pack" (which isn't cheap) but you'll get more bang for your buck than going with Gurr's or Mount's books, which are almost entirely informational.

Talked to IANTD at DEMA. They are republishing the Encyclopedia. They are "updating information and cleaning up the spelling."

I would figure the release at some point in Q1. That's my guess. They wouldn't give me a date.
