if you still have the original bungees, you need to measure the distance from the D-ring where those bungees are attached, and measure that distance to the top of the rail on the butt plate. It should be somewhere in the realm of 15". This equates to the distance from your valve knob or the neck of the tank depending on how your top bungee is set up, or from the ring if using ring bungees, to the point where your bottom attachment point should be on the tank. This determines your cam band placement, if the clip comes out the bottom, it is distance to the bottom of the cam band, if coming out the top, it is the top of the cam band.

With the rig on, you need to measure the distance from the centerline of your body to the rail itself, I use the 90* point since my clips sit on the top edge of the rail. This is how long the leash needs to be to make sure that the bottom of the tank is in the centerline of your body. The length of the bolt snap you are using needs to be subtracted from this total length and the remainder is how much line needs to be between the cam band and the boltsnap.

This is the best way to get your initial setup because it puts the valve straight below the attachment point of the bungee, and puts the cam band straight below where it wants to sit on the rail. With steel tanks this is important because they want to hang. With aluminum tanks it doesn't work. If you roll over the tanks will still flop around, and depending on your bungee setup they may roll into you etc which requires making the bottom leash longer. This is not perfect but is the best starting point.

The best way for us to help you is if you are able to take a picture of your current setup with the tanks next to the rig laying on the floor.
