They are essentially a vintage band, despite the newer Aqulaung logo. They are intended for AL 80's and an Aqalung single outlet manifold - but would work fine with a modern dual outlet manifodl with adjustable center spacing.
They are a lot thinner than is the current trend with double tank bands. Modern tank bands are for the most part much stronger and do a better job of keeping the tanks properly aligned. There aresome exceptions and a badly made set of heavy modern bands can make assembly of the tanks and manifolds a bit of a PITA rather than a 5 minute job.
If properly installed on a set of tanks, modern doubles bands do a superb job of taking all the stress of the manifold. The older thinner bands are not as strong and do nto do as good a job of keeping the tanks perfectly aligned and spaced. That places a bit more stess on the manifold. That led to handling practices such as never picking the tanks up by the center bar, etc that were essential with thinner bands, that are for the most part not really needed with modern tank bands as long as they are tight and properly installed.
One othe issue with the thiner hands is that the center section tends to deform when you tighted the bands. USD Divers used to have a small metal plate in the Conshelf Supreme kits that was used for installation. That plate worked really well as a doubler and 4 of them let you place a metal backing plate between the nut or bolt and center section of the bands when you assembled them that kept the center section from deforming and kept things square. They are now pretty hard to find.
