Tampa to Naples (?) shark tooth dives (Q)

How far is it from Tampa to get on a boat to do some shark tooth diving?

I may have a trip there here pretty soon and have always had an interest in diving for the shark teeth.

P.S - I think Tampa Venice would be around 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive..

It's 80 miles down I-75. If you want to do it from a boat, the place to book with is Steve Thacker at Florida West Scuba: http://www.floridawestscuba.com/

If you want to do it as a beach dive, there's tons of folks here that'd meet up with you for that.

beach/boat...where ever it would be the most rewarding

I fly into FLL most of the time, but occasionally, I get to Tampa and it's probably a closer drivew from Tampa than FLL.


I'll know when I'll be down that way about a week or two before hand. unfortuenatly, it won't be this weekend. I'll check in as always when I know for sure.

We will expert Venice divers there to buddy up with and show you how to find teeth maybe seahorses as well So come on out and enjoy the fun and be sure to watch the trips and market place forum for upcomming dives

OR

1 hour drive (not far at all, put some divers in the car with u to pass time )

From the north:

Head to Venice on I 75. Take exit 200 (SR681) and follow it to US 41 where you'll turn left (south). Take US 41 to Business US 41 (Tamiami Trail) where you turn right. After you cross the bridge, you'll turn right on Venice Ave. Turn left at the first light (Harbor - name not marked). Turn right at the 5th street (Alhambra).

Park on the street as close to the dead end as possible. Be careful not to block the driveway to the condo. Keep your dive between the culverts to the south and the three pine trees to the north.

Have been there befor but no luck in finding teeth... but possibly this sat will be different
