Anybody in here live in the Tampa Bay area? I'm new to diving and am looking for a buddy or 5... My only friend who dives lives in GA so we can only dive together a few times a year. I'm getting a little sick of always being at the mercy of dive charters all the time.

I'm not into any specialty or difficult dives yet, I just want to log some nice easy dives for awhile until I get more comfortable and then the real fun can begin!

sorry for the late reply... just found this thread..... so nice to read about places i know! you'll LOVE tug orange.... i hear the GG's are gone since the red tide, but .... check out http://piddlefish.servepics.com/SCUBA/video.html - search for orange tug and take a peak.

Cool videos! I'm looking forward to seeing the tug orange now that I've seen the video. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice videos.

Well, looks like I picked a good weekend to work on the boat!:D

Look at the forecast and they were calling for 3 to 5's. From personal experience, if the wind blows the same direction for one day, that means 3-5, two days 3+5, three days 3x5! Anyway, not a fun time on the water.:looking_a

Thinking of heading to the "Invade the Keys" weekend in July. How many Tampa Bay divers planning on going?

Thats why I'll be at Ginnie tomorrow. Hopefully the vis will recover for next weekend.

Hi everybody, it seems to be my thread!! I'll arrive in Tampa just next sunday directly from Italy (Rome, to be exact)! I'm supposed to stay there for the next 4-6 months for business. May I ask you what kind of suit do you suggest? 7mm semidry or dry suit?

Bye

Dario, thecaptain

Since you will be here during the summer a 3mm is fine for the Gulf and a 7mm is fine for year round spring dives.

Welcome!

Personally, I might dive naked in August and September if it weren't for big fish with sharp teeth!
