Hi there all,

Not sure sure if this the correct forum, but it is for my new canon/recsea setup...plus I feel comfortable here :coffee:

I have attached a coil lanyard and bolt snap solution to the strobe arm base. Feels solid and great length options for shooting and storing away. Only thing is, the dam coils have an apitite for anything and everything..they even eat themselves.

Anyone use a solution that makes the coil lanyard less snag prone?

Cheers

Mike

Can you post a picture of how you have it attached??.....---& which lanyard it is exactly??.

Remove the coil lanyard, and use just a boltsnap.

Unclip camera to shoot / clip camera when done.

All the best, James

MW--Guess there is still a chance to welcome you to SB! Depending on the coil you now have and the camera you use it with I'd easily reccomend this one from ScubaToys: Cetacea CRL3HD Lanyard discounts on sale Cetecea

Mine doesn't snag things, doesn't get bound up and is very heavy duty. At $26.95US it doesn't break the bank. In a worst case situation an unclipped camera, that is negatively bouyant and heading down into the abyss, would not be a welcome sight. The outer coil covering appears to be nylon so it's less "snaggy" and is added protection from breakage. The coil itself stretches a bit more than an arm's length for use. The clips are solid, work easily. Cetacea markets them in the US, probably available even in OzLand! // ww

Awsome,

I have a self built heavy duty coil lanyard with el flasho boltsnaps and a double ender.

I'll just run it through some 1.5" tube tape and probleme solved. I'll post a pic once I've sorted it
