Not realy a newbee at taking pictures. It was my first time with the G12 but before that I had a A720 (also Canon) for 2 years and before that a A310. This is where I learned to take underwater pictures.
I'm also an out of water photographer, enthousiast.
My problem is that I only have few occasions to Dive, only a few days a year on vacations. I live far from the sea. :depressed:

My last two years of just taking pictures on underwtaer where just taking picture after picture all my pictures were from the top to bottom(just for fun nothing serious)... then i start reading books of underwater photograpy...i have not tried it, this is the goal of my next vacation : relax, identify good pictures oportunities get to the bottom, try to get close and shot UPWARD to get the fish, coral and a nice blue back ground...give it a try next time...
