Well its official now you guys have talked me into it lol:) Me and the wife are really pumped. Met with my travel agent today and we leave January the 9th.Any recommendations where yo dive things to check out where to stay etc etc. We are going to be on a boat for 10 days but after that we want to stay in a hotel or a bungalow???

Sure hope I did the right thing lol. Been to Maui a dozen times and all over the Caribbean. Dove on eagle nest in grand Cayman and wow I would say that ws the best dive I have ever been on.

So excited how this Tahiti is going to measure up .

Once again guys this means allot to me for your advice!!
Congrats! You definitely did the right thing. :D

When you say you want to stay in a hotel/bungalow, did you have any islands in mind? Which islands will the boat be visiting? How many days will you have in FP after the boat?

I was there last December in Rangiora and Fakarava....afternoon storms which is typical in the tropics...the only thing that time of the year it was HOT!....my trip report is posted somewhere in the forum.....one of the best dive trips I have done. If fact if you are an Undercurrent reader my trip report was the feature for June's issue.

By the looks of your dates, you'll be on the Tahitian Princess doing the Cook Island route & visiting Huahine, Raiatea,Bora Bora, Moorea & Roratonga in the Cook Islands. We did this trip last November & had an awesome time! The ships dive excursions will cost around $145 for a 2 tank dive. Raiatea was the only stop we used the ship dives as they use Hemisphere Sub and that is who we wanted to dive with anyway. Much cheaper to book Roratonga on your own($70 US for a 2 tank) All the other islands are about the same cost as the ships if you book your own unless you can book the 10 dive pkg with Top Dive. My wife & I split that & did 3 dives on Bora & 2 on Moorea each. That was around $650 US. The single tank afternoon dive on Bora was the only one we didn't encounter sharks & was a shallow dive of about 40'. We did encounter Eagle & Sting rays on the dive though. The ship does not offer a dive on Huahine & we didn't feel comfortable booking with any of the operators we found so we just rented a small outboard boat & found places on the reefs to snorkle. We're going back next August on the Star Flyer which is a 360' Clipper Ship...wish it were sooner, but a trip next month to Cayman will have to suffice. Have a great trip!
