Hi everyone,

I'm currently considering adding a sidemount rebreather to my setup. Since I want it to integrate with my JJ and I’m looking specifically for an eCCR, the T-Reb seems to be the most viable option. A chest-mounted unit is not something I'm interested in.
At the moment, I dive sidemount using two steel 12L cylinders with an XDeep Stealth 2.0 Tec harness. From most pictures and videos I’ve seen of the T-Reb, it typically replaces the right-hand cylinder, and divers are usually running two aluminum cylinders on the left. I understand that this configuration provides optimal WOB, especially with the unit positioned horizontally and aligned with the diver's lungs.
However, I’m a bit concerned about gas volume for more demanding cave dives where sidemount is necessary. Not just for restriction navigation but for extended penetration. My question is:
Is anyone here diving the T-Reb in a configuration with two (steel 12L) cylinders, one on each side?
If so, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your setup, experiences, and possibly some pictures or videos.

Thanks in advance!

I assume the same applies to other “true” sidemount rebreathers like the divesoft or the Sf2; my humble uneducated guess is you run it in mod1 format with a right tank (longhose) and later in mod2 you add a deco tank (probably on the right as well) and at some point you can run it with 3 tanks 2 on the R and one on the L side 🤷🏽‍♀️

Most of the people I know running sidemount rebreather setups had it as a bailout rebreather (either with a backmount unit like JJ or with a sidewinder) so they ran it with only one DiL-out tank
But I’m sure Protec Sardinia people have better input there, since they do long cave explorations on Trebs

Divesoft with sidewinder

Divesoft with JJ (ok with BM divesoft but Sameh also does it with JJ)

check the slideshow for some variations with TREB

Look forward to learning more about the possibilities

Greg over at Lot Filling Station dives dual T-Rebs.

If I was thinking of one of those units I’d get in touch with him, & obviously Toddy too, as has already been suggested.

I believe Greg also dives with two OC bailouts, though I cannot remember whether they are 80s or steel 12s.
