Hi,

My T-Reb eCOiS is now a T-Reb Divecan with Petrel3 controller and analogue AK 4pin hud.
Hey, congrats on the upgrade! Quick question: with the switch to the Petrel 3 controller and DiveCAN setup, how do you handle using the unit as a bailout rebreather? The older eCOIS controller allowed for a backup mode (which temporary shuts down the solenoid) for that purpose, but I’ve heard the Petrel doesn’t have that feature. Curious how that works or how you’ve set it up!

For the moment, I haven't used the T-Reb as a BO rebreather. I'm using it as a main rebreather, especially for cave diving on sites with narrow passages.
To use it as a BO rebreather, I think switching to BO mode will solve the solenoid problem and stop O2 injection.

That would be nice, but according to the manual it only reads the internal PPO₂ setpoint for calculations (which is still pretty useful). Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it allows any changes to the solenoid control.

Does anyone have experience with this and could share how you approach using the T-Reb as a bailout rebreather with the new Petrel 3 instead of the eCOIS controller?
