Hi all,
Looking at purchasing my 1st BCD. Looking for comments ...

Currently OW certified, soon to be AOW. Only have about 25 dives logged at the moment, so not experienced in the slightest. However, 75% of my diving will be in the (cold) waters of the UK. That said, there will be yearly trips abroad to the likes of Egypt/Turkey/Malta etc.

I have a ScubaPro Everdry 4 Neoprene drysuit, together with some Fourth Element Arctic thermals. MK25/S600 Reg.

For no other reason other than I'm (maybe falsely) led down the path of "ScubaPro are one of the best", and "buy the most expensive you can", I've narrowed down two BCs - T-Black vs X-Force ?, but I can't decide between the two.

Could someone with a little more experience tell me why I should not bother with one, and buy the other? Or why it really doesnt matter ?

Price wise, they're pretty much the same, 380ukp / 430euro / 585dollars.

Comments?

Hey ,

I'm looking forward to buy my first BCD and I was considering X-Force as one of my options . I cant see a reply on your thread , I wonder why ? . If you bought any of those BCDs , please provide your feedback.

Hi Nomro,
I bought the X-Force afterwards ... at the time I bought it I could find no negative comments about it - so gave it a chance.

As a first BCD it's brilliant. The trim pockets in the back really made a difference for me ...... I could feel my position and bouyancy improved on the very first dive. The pockets are good for 2Kgs despite them being written only for 1kg.

Dives so far have been split pretty equal to quary diving in the UK, and diving in the Red Sea - both situations, the jacket has coped perfectly.

I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Best of luck
Andy

Hey Andy ,

After months of buying the X-force , do still recommend it over the T-Black ? One more thing I'm thinking of buying it online some say that the scubapro sizes are a bit larger than normal is that true ?
I'm 176 cm tall , 73 KG weight I was thinking of medium , now I'm considering small .

What do you think ?
