OK, locals... I've been told that if I'm in Sydney there are several things I MUST do:

1.) Opera House Tour<-- BF's "must do list"
2.) Two routes each an unforgettable experience and adventure (the Bridge Climb)
3.) Tetsuya's - Home (Best Restaurant on the Planet??)

Has anyone been to Tetsuya's? Will we even get a reservation for two weeks from now? And if we do get in, Is the menu worth it?

Bridge Climb: Why the silly matching pantsuits? Is it a must do??

So, what do the locals have to say about these things?

opera house yes... i should have booked a tour when fairybasslet was here if i could redo it

bridgeclimb yes, even the locals do it. the attractive jumpsuits are because of the no pocket/loose clothing rules. even the cap is attached to the suit so nothing will fall down and land on a motorist (trust me, if the bridge gets blocked the city grinds to a halt)

tetsuyas.... too exy for us but Zeeman has mentioned it a few times as outstanding. is it the food or the views? Aqua Luna, Ripples at Chowder Bay worth looking at also

gotta run out the door for training... see ya!

If you are going to the opera house, grab some lunch and sit on the steps over looking the harbour and bridge watching the ferries. It is very nice and relaxing.

Bridge climb yes.

So, I'm back from my Aussie vacation. And we didn't really do any of the "land stuff" we thought we were going to do...

BUT! Instead of doing the Opera House tour, BF gave me the BEST valentines day present ever!!! He bought tix for La Boheme at the Opera House. Amazing! Prime seats beautiful show.

We did not do the Bridge climb but we did ferry over to north Sydney and walked around and under the bridge at night and had dinner at Ripples overlooking the Bridge, Bay & Opera house. (thank you Almitywife for the suggestion) It was truly the BEST meal we had in Australia. The food, service, and view were an experience never to be forgotten.

We also walked over to Woolloomooloo and walked around the Wharf. Very nice walk from the park to Mrs Macquaries Chair to the Wharf. Many nice pictures to take along the walk. We also braved the pies and peas at Harry's Cafe de Wheels. Interesting & maybe even yummy.

Also made it to the Aquarium and Wildlife World at Darling harbour. That was fun, we even got to watch the Dragon Boat Races for the Chinese New Year. I also got to see the weedies at the Aquarium to kind of make up for my disappointment at not being able to dive with Almitywife.

And, of course... the shopping! Did plenty of that while BF was working...

Sydney is beautiful and we can't wait to go back! Already thinking that we'll plan a trip next year and take more time to really see a bit more.

wow. glad to hear you had a great time!

yeah,.... pity all that spoiling by the BF meant we couldnt dive but there is always next time isnt there!!!

Oooops. couldn't help myself. The Face at Luna Park has all the makings of a perfect David Lynch movie set...:rofl3:

Hmmmm, oztek 09?? Maybe a good reason to start planning 2009 vacations...

But I did find a good reason for you to visit the US... CHEAP DIVE GEAR!!! I looked at what you pay for gear over there, WOW!!! The prices were insane. :confused:Did I just find tourist trap prices or is all gear expensive there??

heheheheh - we are all well aware how exy our gear is down here!

hubby and i starting to talk about baja for 2010... tie it in with dema maybe ;)
