Well thats a moment you will NEVER EVER forget.

Happend to me once in the Red Sea,"wild" dolfins came up to me duiring a wreck dive.
Never seen the wreck that time but had THE best dive ever.
Dolfins came up to me to play, with stones and plants and peaces of coral.
Promiss me a dive like that and I will travel all over the world

Yes, it's true! Today on Columbia deep, during the ascent at about 30 feet....six dolphins swam right by close enough to touch...five adults and a baby! As if dropping in on the two fighting green morays and the five black tips wasn't spectacular enough! A truly incredible day of diving!

Arrrrgh! Officially jealous here!

Were you diving too? I bet you wish you had that boring old 5050 with you... :crafty:

Speaking of, when's the new housing arrive?

Jeff, maybe she should have the housing sent to you, then you'll have to make a trip just to deliver it. It could happen!

I'm green with envy. I keep waiting, and I know with only 50 dives I might have to be very patient, but from my limited dives between Key Largo and Cozumel I have never seen dolphins on a dive, let alone get within arms length. I see them in Key Largo from the boat going out to the site, but never on a dive.

I'll be in Coz for 5 days of diving on Jan. 25. I'll take any of the three sights you describe above. Yeah, you had an incredible day of diving.

Seems like a week or so before EVERY one of my Cozumel trips for the past two years, someone has a dive with dolphins. This time it's dolphins and sharks! :shakehead:

Better the week before than the week after, though... ;^)

Christi, we will be wanting the dolphin experience added to our January dives.
Do we need an advanced reservation for that? :D

Oh wow! That's a dive that dreams are made of!!! I'm happy for you and the divers you had with you! What a gift to always treasure seeing them so close..... Bet that log book page got filled in quickly!!!

Tell those dolphins to stick around for a few weeks for us, okay? When I lived in Virginia Beach the dolphins would quite often get very close and seemed curious as if they wanted to interact. The thing that surprises me about the encounter you described is that you mentioned there was a baby in the pod. In my experience dolphins tend to stay away when they have a baby in tow and can actually get quite aggressive if you try to get close. You've got some extra friendly dolphins there! (Then again, they're "Cozumel" dolphins so I'm not surprised after all) Hope we get to see them!
