Great photos Bob (obvioulsy). I guess he was not to bothered by your presence? The only octopus I have ever encountered wanted away from me quickly....of couse me in a wetsuit and mask....I can see why :shakehead:
 
Big GPOs aren't afraid of very much. Although, during the day, they are often holed up, when one encounters them in the open they range from uninterested to curious.

I was attacked by one at 150 ft. (Snake wall, Nanaimo)

I think he saw my name in white paint on the back of my jets as some type of fish.

More likely it was your personality ... crabs are an octopus' favorite food ... :lotsalove:

Great shots, Bob! Getting that male Kelp Greenling in the same shot as the GPO was a coup. Second batch of shots was terrific as well. That guy is a little bigger than the little red ones we see around here most of the time. I don't think I'd want him wrapping a tentacle around my little finger.
