If you are interested in Tech or Rec Diving the USS Vandenberg in January with Mike Ange, the Team Leader and planner for the technical clearance dive team during the process of sinking the Vandenberg, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. I will be driving down ahead of time so I can transport your tanks (etc) for you if needed, and you can fly in and out.

The boat is a Glacier Bay that can accommodate up to six divers and equipment. The focus on this trip is tech diving and wreck penetration; however, recreational diving is an option if not qualified for tech/wreck.

Planned tech diving schedule will be one morning dive, likely heading out around 8:30-9:00 AM followed by a 3-4 Hour surface interval (lunch, etc), then a second dive starting around 2pm. Recreational divers will likely be able to get double dips.

The total price for the boat and condo is $800 a day + fuel surcharge. The Vandenberg is just over 7 miles from the dock so I don't anticipate us burning large quantities of that.

If there were 4 tech divers, that would be only $200 a day each.

With 6 divers this would bring the total per person price to: $133 per person for diving and accommodations.

During this trip Mike will be offering the Limited Penetration Wreck training course for an additional $250 for those who may be interested.

I will definitely be going on this trip, and I know CarrieSal is working on the logistics so she can come as well, so that potentially only leaves open 4 slots. I wanted to get the word out to my fellow swampers before it gets promoted more in Florida.

If you are interested, let me know, or you can contact Mike at: mike@seaduction.com or call 727-271-8400

I might be interested. How deep is the Vandenberg?

157 feet

I'm potentially interested along with another CCR buddy. It's too far out for me to plan at the moment with my current economic status, but I'll keep an eye on this thread in case something changes.
