I think I am swallowing air during my dives. All goes well in the pool for short periods.
I recently dove 40 min bottom time and about the same the dive before. Problem is when I hit surface I vomit terribly. First time it was after I got on the boat and last time was as soon as I surfaced.
I have watched what I eat, no history of sea sickness and last dive I took bonnies before the dive and ate ginger candies.
I do have problems with equalizing, and must descend slowly and usually have to come up a bit and start over.
I am puzzled at what is going wrong or what I am doing wrong.

If I eat greasy food (like pizza) I get nauseas when I dive.

Any chance it's water? It's easy to get water in, swallow it, while diving. At least salt water can be pretty blechy until you learn to keep a good seal on the mouthpiece.

Fart before you come up. :D

thats a good one! I am a small person and usually its all I can do to maintain my safety stop/hover and now you want me to try to fart in my wetsuit. Well, guess Im gonna have to practice that one. But oh well, if it keeps me from vomiting guess I will have another technque to work on.
lol

Might be that you are gulping some salt water as mark said. Are you perhaps nervous during the dive? Try to avoid fat and spicy food prior to the dive.

I guess it's not bad air in the tanks or everyone would be affected.

nervous...yes, first dives were my ow cert dives first time on boat and last dive was first time I did a back roll off of the boat. But once in the water I feel really comfortable.

Any sense of stomach acid? Many of us don't spend much time prone & face down. If your trim is a little head down things could be sloshing where shouldn't. Try some Tums.

A little nervous excitement before a dive, espcially a boat dive is a healthy thing. If you are at ease once you get wet that's a good sign.

Oh I can feel an H2Andy remark coming on this. But, I have to take some Rantidine for acid or it kills me. It looks like a gutted fish hit the boat when i come up if i dont.
