Hello,
The Suunto VYPER was the computer I was looking at and just wanted to know if it gives you the temperature, depth, timeing of how long the dive? I'm sure it includes these but I wanted to make sure.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Are you in a hurry to purchase a computer? If not it may be worth waiting a while since I believe Suunto will be releasing their computers with a new RGBM algorithm that will incorporate deep stops (which the Mares RGBM computers already have). It seems really pointless to get a computer with an "RGBM" algorithm that doesn't include deep stops! However I have no idea how soon the new Suunto's will be available, but it does seem to be a pity to get a computer now which will be "outmoded" when the new models come out.

(Admittedly the Mares RGBM only gives a single deep stop, but that is a big step up from Suunto giving no deep stops)

I guess it's a fact of life that technology often becomes obsolete as soon as you purchase it, but I agree it's not a good idea to purchase something if you know it's on the verge of being superceded.

I'm also interested in getting a Vyper. Where did you hear that Suunto computers will have deep stops? The D9 has deep stops, but has Suunto announced that the other computers will also be getting deep stops?

I sent emails to Suunto USA (Aqualung) and Suunto UK asking about upgrades to the Vyper. They both said that no changes are planned to the product line except for the D9 and a USB cable for Dive Manager. Based on that, if you're looking for deep stops, it might be a long wait unless you want to shell out the big bucks for the D9.
