Hello,

I have a Suunto Vyper computer and the interface (cable) to connect to my pc. The connection (plug) between the cable and my Vyper seems a bit loose and sometimes, I lose connection and have to play with the plug until I find the right position so that transfer is not interrupted.

Does anyone who use it experienced similar problems?

Thanks

Hi Eric - We have 2 Cobras and noticed the connection is very loose, but we haven't lost connectivity at all.
We just plug it in and lay the computer face down and don't move it and we've been fine so far.
Hope you find something that works!

I built my own interface and cant make a plug that fits at all so i have to hold it on correctly for the 2 mins or so it takes without breathing or moving at all :)

Sorry, thats no help.

Actually I will wet the 2 prongs on the interface sometimes to get a good connection. Not dunking it in the sink but using a wet finger to dampen the contacts.

With both my Vyper and now my D3 I found that the connection worked best when I simply gave a gentle squeeze to the connection.

Cheers,

-S

An RJ45 plug works well, and makes a strong connection that doesn't fall out. I used CAT5 cable to the interface and placed wires to the extreme 3 pins on the RJ45. File down the plastic a bit so the pins are exposed, and you're set!

Thats worth considering. Ive tried just about everything else i could think of.

Edit:- Just tried RJ45 and cant see any way it'd fit, it wont get past the raised groove about midway into the socket.
