Just wondering how many owners, if there are anymore, have had problems with their computer "fading out" when pressure is applied to the casing while handling it. I've had this computer for over 6 years, and has just now started to do this. I am thinking that something is starting to go on the insides, and the battery is new.

Most liquid crystal displays are connected to the electronics via a little rubber strip called an elastomeric connector. Slight movement of this connector can cause individual segments to turn off, or in some cases, for the entire display to fade out.

The calculations are not affected, just the ability of the computer to tell you anything.
